Sixpence None The Richer significa em português: Seis Centavos Não Deixam Ninguém Rico, (uma expressao do livro Cristianismo Puro e Simples, de C.S. Lewis)



a banda foi formada em 1992, em New Braunfels, Texas, pelos músicos Leigh Bingham Nash, Matt Slocum, que se conheceram em um retiro cristão, Sean Kelly, Justin Carry, Jerry Dale McFadden, Dale Baker e Rob Mitchell. Teve ainda em sua formação Tess Wiley e J. J. Plasencio.
A banda tinha terminado em 2004, e voltou a ativa em 2007, lançando um cd em 2008. Houve um trabalho solo da Leigth Nash em 2005, o album blue on blue

O novo cd lancado pelo Oficina G3, com seu novo integrante, Mauro Henrique, de Brasília.
este trabalho é um retorno as origens, e melhor que nunca, no melhor estilo Hard-Rock / Heavy-Metal. Isso tudo sem perder sua caracteristica e propósito confiado a eles por Deus:
fazer do rock uma ferramenta de evangelismo


A gravação apresenta 15 faixas, sendo 12 músicas inéditas, uma regravação de People Get Ready de Curtis Mayfield e a regravação (em português e em inglês) da canção I tried to change (FullRange, antiga banda de Mauro Henrique), agora rebatizada de Unconditional (Incondicional).

Sobre o título Jean Carllos explica: “Parece que nós passamos por uma guerra. Esse CD então surgiu sendo um marco de tudo aquilo que já vivemos para o que vamos viver. O nome tem muito a ver com o contexto de hoje”. A capa reflete bem o tema: ruínas de uma cidade, com pétalas caindo do céu e uma rosa com folhas nascendo em meio à destruição. “A capa retrata aquilo que a gente acredita, que vivemos. As lutas, a batalha, sim, mas a alegria chegando com o amanhecer”, completa Jean.

Leeland

a banda que eu vou postar essa semana é Leeland. Eles acabaram de lançar um CD novo (dia 26 de Fevereiro). Essa é umas das melhores bandas q eu ja escutei.

Leeland é uma banda liderada por Leeland Mooring, ele é o cantor e guitarrista principal.
Leeland, seu irmão mais velho Jack, o seu primo Jake Holtz, e dois amigos íntimos da igreja, Mike Smith e Jeremias Wood, formaram a banda. Eles decidiram usar Leeland como nome, porque eles gostaram da forma como soa.
O som deles é adoração, alternativo/ rock, o som melodico deles, faz compara-los a Coldplay, Keane e U2. e as letras tem uma incrivel inspiração. Leeland tem trabalhado junto com Michael W. Smith, e teve participação na composição de varias musicas do Michael (isso mostra o quanto ele é bom..).

Eles foram nomeados para o Grammy Award de Melhor Álbum Pop Cristão em 2006. E em 2007 em 5 categorias para o GMA Dove Awards. Em 2008, mais duas nomeaçoes para o Dove Awards.
