Guardian

Guardian é uma banda cristã que muita gente por aí desconhece. David Bach (baixo) e Tony Palacios (guitarra) deram início ao conjunto em 1985 na cidade de Los Angeles, em plena efervescência de conjuntos ligados às drogas e sexo. O vocalista Jamie Rowe e o baterista Karl Ney entraram no grupo, levando adiante o projeto de mostrar o que o “Senhor fez em suas vidas” e, mesmo sendo motivo de piada para muitos, logo assinam com a Vertigo e lançam seu primeiro disco. Não satisf eitos, partem para um pequeno selo cristão chamado Pakaderm e a partir daí começam a chamar a atenção do público mais voltado para o lado espiritual e que, mesmo assim, curtia rock´n´roll.



E seus músicos eram realmente criadores intensos. “Miracle Mile”, de 1993, é seu terceiro registro e comprova isto, apresentando um trabalho gráfico muito bonito, letras reflexivas, uma gravação impecável e a atuação dos músicos são soberbas. Claro que nada disso contaria se as canções não fossem boas, o que não é o caso aqui. As faixas são bastante melódicas, cheias de swing e com boa dosagem no peso. Os bons garotos do Guardian aumentaram em muito sua reputação com este trabalho. A vida continua com Guardian se apresentando por diversos países e lançando inúmeros trabalhos, sendo que muitos deles fogem bastante da sua proposta inicial de tocar hard rock. Fato curioso é que em 1998 colocaram no mercado um disco de covers chamado “The Yellow And Black Attack Is Back”, do Stryper! Reproduziram todo este álbum! Katsbarnea

A banda Katsbarnea surgiu em São Paulo em 1988, suas letras falavam de um tema novo no cenário cristão, trazendo à tona temas como drogas, desequilíbrio ecológico, abuso do álcool, violência e desigualdade social.

A banda prticipou de programas de TV como o “Matéria Prima” (TV Cultura), então apresentado por Serginho Groisman, além de ter matérias registradas em programas da MTV, na revista Veja, Caderno 2 do jornal O Estado de S. Paulo, Folha Ilustrada da Folha de S. Paulo, entre outros.

Um fato curioso e que merece ser destacado é a presença maciça de adolescentes nas apresentações do grupo com tantos anos de carreira. Tal fato confirma a vocação original da banda: levar os jovens ao questionamento crucial da existência humana, o valor da vida.

Katsbarnea em hebráico significa "lugar da decisão". Na Bíblia, Katsbarnea aparece como o lugar de onde os doze espias, um de cada tribo de Israel, todos fugitivos do Egito, saíram para ver se a terra de Canaã era aquilo que Deus havia prometido.

O álbum “Katsbarnea Acústico” gravado ao vivo no DirecTV Music Hall (São Paulo). O trabalho, registrado em CD e Home Video, ultrapassou a marca de 100.000 cópias vendidas e rendeu uma turnê de aproximadamente dois anos, levando a banda a excursionar por todo Brasil e em cidades da Bolívia, Argentina, Uruguai, Inglaterra e Israel.

Completando 19 anos de existência, Katsbarnea lança em 2007 seu oitavo álbum, "A tinta de Deus", só com músicas inéditas e compostas pelo vocalista, Paulinho Makuko, e prepara a gravação de um DVD comemorativo de 20 anos com lançamento previsto para 2008.
